Re: Alternative to ChemDraw?

This is not strictly true.

As a beta tester for Cambridgesoft I can guarantee that there have been up-to-date Mac versions of Chemdraw released along with the PC versions for years now, as any glance at their online store will confirm. Where there is a disparity is in the ChemOffice Suite. The flagship product Chemdraw is Mac and PC. The rest of the suite has been PC only for a number of years. I don't think Chem3D and Chemfinder were released for Mac beyond v6. For a while they shipped the v.5 products along with Chemdraw v.6-7 for Mac. There have never been Enotebook or the Excel plugins etc. for Mac

I got the comment below from a friend I convinced to switch to Mac.
Does anyone have a viable alternative to ChemDraw for the mac?

We had a faculty meeting on Tues and guys were complaining that
chemdraw (?) has
come out with 2 new pc versions in recent years but has not updated
mac during
that time. But with the core duo processor I'll bet things will
change one way
or another. Time will tell.
