A cross-platform, scriptable, GUI-driven database program would probably do the job. I did consider FileMaker, but it has never struck me as being especially suited to large quantities of numeric data.

How much data are we talking about here? Is it all typed into the spreadsheet by hand? Is any of it stored in files outside the spreadsheet currently? Is the input data set fixed size?

Currently, about 25MB (or so) of numeric data -- multiple fields associated with each entry. And yes, it has, over time, all been entered by hand. As they're doing it now, all the data is in the same spreadsheet. It has grown quite out of hand, as you can see [:-)]

Not entirely sure what you mean by the last question, except to say that the number of entries in the spreadsheet has grown rather enormously, and will continue to grow.
