It may be worth noting here that the original product, CurvusPro,
worked well before Apple acquired it. There were a few deficiencies
to be sure, but I thought, and the author from Arizona Software
apparently also thought that Apple would extend the product, and
perhaps even make it a showcase application much like the original
Graphing Calculator was. So it is with not inconsiderable irony
that one can reflect on the true[*] history of the original
Graphing Calculator and note that in this area Apple still doesn't
get it.
There is a very droll Google Tech video describing this also. I
can't find the url off-hand, but it is an enjoyable 45 minutes if you
want to hear a macabre story of continuing working at Apple after
being dropped, how they got it tested, etc. etc.
