Dear N., Thanks for your support for Sherlock. Per our guidelines located at the following URL: <http://www.apple.com/legal/guidelinesfor3rdparties.html> Apple cannot allow you to use Sherlock as part of a product or company name. You may, however, use Sherlock in a referential phrase on packaging, promotional/advertising materials to describe that your product is compatible with Sherlock. In doing so, you must make certain that your use of Sherlock does not create a sense of endorsement, sponsorship, or false association with Apple or Apple products or services and that the use of Sherlock does not show Apple or its products in a false or derogatory light. Also, you may use Sherlock in a domain name provided that your website only serves as a non-commercial electronic informational forum concerning Apple9s Sherlock technology. You must provide a disclaimer of sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement by Apple on your website:, e.g., "(Title) is an independent (publication) and has not been authorized, sponsored, or otherwise approved by Apple Computer, Inc." and a trademark attribution notice giving notice of Apple9s ownership of Sherlock.
