minViewSize, the toolbar and Window Sizes

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me where ".minViewSize" is documented? I need to know
whether it supposed to apply to the sherlock window as a whole or just
the pane showing my channel's contents. The reason I ask is because I
think the way these values are used when changing the height of the
toolbar, either by hiding or changing icon size etc., is a bit strange.

Try this example:

1) Open Sherlock - doesn't matter what channel is displaying but make
sure Toolbar is visible
2) Make the Window as small as it will go
3) Hide Toolbar

At this point the window has shrunk by the height of the toolbar and the
channels proportions are still at the smallest and base settings. Now:

4) Try and resize the window to reduce its height.

What happens is the window actually grows in height and the channels
contents expand based on the resize options - basically the channel is
at minViewSize and not the window! The window is in fact minViewSize +
toolbar height.

5) Now re display the Toolbar

The window grows accordingly whilst keeping the channels contents in the
same proportions. Lastly:

6) resize the window to reduce its height

The window can be resized, becomes minViewSize and the channels contents
resize accordingly to their settings.

Basically it means the channel part of the window can have two distinct
minimum sizes. Am I missing something here or is this a bug?

Regards, Michael.
