Hi all,
I have a couple of questions: I have installed darwin streaming server on
Debian Linux 3 and are running it as a mp3 server across my LAN. Everything
works fine except that the nameing of the streams is inconsistant. When
playing the stream with a product such as winamp on Windows some of the MP3's
(songs) transmit the name of the file and others don't (and just keep the
previous songs name), others have the name of a completely different song and
others just have the name of the stream. I noticed that the songs that do
transmit are those songs that have been preflighted - what determines weather
or not a song gets preflighted of not and is it possible to alter what dss
sends to the client.
My second question has to do with the with the order of songs on the playlist.
I wish to make a web site where by users can vote for the play order of songs.
Is it enough to just manipulate the flies in
/var/streaming/playlists/myplaylist/myplaylist.upcoming and
myplaylist.playlist ie does MP3Broadcaster re-load these files for each new
song - or are they just an output of what is happening - and hence i would
need to write my own MP3Broadcaster?
Thanks
Rob
