Re: DSS 4.1.1 error

Hi Billy,

The env I am running DSS is on Windows 2000 Professional. I first downloaded
the pre-compiled binaries and notice that it core dumps and actually stop the
server from working evne the streamingserver.xml has break_on_assert set to be
false. I then downloaded the source and recompiled it. (btw during the
recompilation under Visual Studio 6 it complains SpamPro cannot be found...)
anyway they behave the same and fails those assertions. The error log shows:

# Streaming STARTUP 2002-09-19 19:09:40
2002-09-19 19:12:52: _Assert:
d:\darwinstreamingserver\dss-4_1_1.src\commonutilitieslib\stringparser.cpp,

# Streaming STARTUP 2002-09-19 19:17:18

# Streaming STARTUP 2002-09-19 19:18:57

I was using DSS as a reflector on live streaming where the RTP packets are
coming from JMF (Java media framework)
Thanks!

Aaron,

Please provid more info, particularly what OS (you didn't specify in
your first message),
are you using our pre-compiled binaries, or did you compile/build it
yourself there, the exact
assert line (as displayed in the error.log file, etc.

Also, if your config XML has break_on_assert set to false (which it
should), does the server
actually stop, or exhibit any problems, or does it seem to continue to
work after printing
out the assert?

     <PREF NAME="break_on_assert" TYPE="Bool16" >false</PREF>

Thanks,
Billy Brown
