problem in use Darwin

Hi All!

I have successfully installed Darwin Streaming Server (v.4.0.2 for Linux)
and now I'm testing it; in /usr/local/movies/ directory I put some .avi,
.mpg, .mov, .mp4, .mp3 files and I'm using as client the following player:
"mplayer" (with rtsp libraries from Live.com).
The problem is when I work using mplayer in reply to the DESCRIBE
request, Darwin works correctly only for the "sample.mov" and
"sample_XXXKbit.mov" files (just obtained from Darwin directory),
whereas all other files, included different .mov files, can't
be open (error 415...).
I know that in order to open these files I must "hint" them before the
use in streaming and it is possible only by QuickTime Pro...
...but I'm a Linux user...so I can't use this application!
Does someone know if it exists a "QTPro" version for Linux?
If no, please how can I do working in a different way?

Santino Tomo
