Why bother? Even if they do begin to take interest tomorrow, a week from now
things could go back to the status quo.

I think it's time to fork, even if "fork" is a four letter word. Forking
gets a bad rap. It's the right solution in this scenario; I can't imagine
anybody successfully arguing otherwise.
