There is no such thing as progressive download with DSS.

Please check the mail archive for more info.

I’ll try to explain it briefly here:

Your links should look like this:

rtsp://apple.drutt.net:554/streamable.3gp

rtsp://apple.drutt.net:80/downloadable.3gp

DSS server has a feature to stream on port 80, which is a standart “web” port so you could overcome some firewall restrictions on some systems.

Streaming is always via RTSP protocol, just different fort (554 is default).

Do not forget to change configuration and restart DSS server if you intend to use port 80.
