type refers to what codec?



see RFC 1889 and RFC 1890 for fixed payload numbers (which are no longer assigned). Go to the ietf web site at www.ietf.org. I think there may also be information at the IANA web site (www.iana.org), since that site documents all assigned numbers and the like.
