Hi Billy,

I haven't been able to make QTSSAccessModule to work under Win2K. It
seems that the qtaccess file work, but not the "user file". It seems to
me that because the password is not encrypted, QTSSAccessModule is
expecting an encrypted password.

This is what my files look like:

C:\Program Files\Darwin Streaming Server\Movies\Protected\qtaccess
------
AuthName Test
AuthUserFile "C:\Program Files\Darwin Streaming Server\qtusers"
AuthGroupFile "C:\Program Files\Darwin Streaming Server\qtgroups"
required user student
required group students
------

C:\Program Files\Darwin Streaming Server\qtusers (created with
qtpasswd.exe)
------
student:student1
------

C:\Program Files\Darwin Streaming Server\qtgroups
------
students:student
------

With these setting the client is challenged over and over without
authenticating.

I tried it on OS X Server and it works as expected. I even copied the
qtusers and qtgroups files from the OSXS to the Win2K server thinking
that the encryption would work, but it didn't. Naturally the qtusers
file from OSXS had an encrypted password.

It seems to me that my qtaccess file is working as the client is
challenged and the word "Test" shows up in the challenge, but no
authentication.

Any ideas Billy, anyone? I couldn't find anything on the TIL.

Has anyone got QTSSAccessModule to work under DSS 2.0.1 and Win2K? I
can't believe I'm the first one that tries to use access control.
