User-agent: Microsoft Outlook Express Macintosh Edition - 5.01 (1630)
For the past couple of months the QuickTime Streaming Server Engineering
Team has been working on adding several features to the Darwin Streaming
Server source targeted at streaming caching proxies. The general aim of
these features is to make it as easy as possible for a cache to create a
"pristine copy" of the media and re-serve it in an identical manner as the
origin server.
A major part of this has been submitted to the IETF as an Internet Draft.
Documentation on this caching support, as well as a copy of the latest
Internet Draft, is available in our open-source CVS repository, in the
Documentation folder. The latest version of the server in CVS includes a
complete implementation of what is documented.
If you are a developer interested in taking advantage of these features,
feel free to check out the source & documentation, and post questions /
comments on this list.
