Re: DSS4 returing error 10060

The "icy" prefix only works with QT5.x, which is what you mentioned that
you were using. So that *should* work for you.

DSS4 listens on ports 554, 7070, and 8000. It doesn't matter which of these
you try in the client, as long as a firewall isn't in the way and you don't
have TCP port conflicts on the server machine.

You may want to make sure that you don't have a proxy setting in your QT
player. If you *are* connecting through a firewall, that might explain your
problems.. is that the case?

It looks like maybe an error 10060 is a "connection timed out error." If
that's correct, then you just don't have connectivity between your client
and server.

Have you tried using an IP address in the client's URL instead of a
hostname? (Maybe DNS resolution is a problem..)

You might want to check connectivity between the machines.. If you're using
OS X, just use the command line:
$  ping (ip address)
If that works, then try:
$  telnet (ip address) 554

If the telnet session connects, then try typing hitting <return> a couple of
times. The QTSS server should respond with an error message. If this
doesn't work, then you have connectivity problems at some level.
