Our system has 3 network interfaces (as viewed in Win2k Network Neighborhood
properties). We disable 2, and make sure the cable for the 3rd is
disconnected. We install Darwin streaming server and reboot. When the
system comes back up, we plugin the cable and attempt to stream from the
server. We get "Connected", "Negotiating" and then "-3285 Disconnected" in
the Quicktime 5.0.2 player. Checking the server service, it has crashed,
with no indication in the access or error logs as to why.
Restarting the service appears to be fine (no disconnects afterwards).
3.0.1 has improved greatly on Win2k network interfaces (ie: 2.0.1 used to
bind to the Microsoft Loopback Adapter) used for system clustering&load
balancing - and crash when trying to create connections. I contend there is
still a problem in the server when installing on a system with disabled
and/or disconnected network connections.
- Is it required that the server have a network connection to install?
- Can users that do not work/submit code submit bugs?
- What is the method for doing this?
- Has anyone else encountered this problem?
