mac and windows cross platform solution

i am creating streaming content for a windows network that is really locked down (meaning, users cannot change settings on their machines without the intervention of a network administrator).

when i create streaming .mov files the mac people get it (of course), but the windows users' machines attempt to open the rtsp file in real one.

i have tried setting qt mime settings, the real settings, etc. , but real refuses to allow qt to be the default player for rtsp formats.

any suggestions?

i would attempt to make these .mp4 files, but not sure if that would work either? any help would be appreciated.
