AAC broadcast

Well, I finally put our campus radio station, WCNI, on the web. Using
apache, QT Broadcaster and QTSS running OSX Server on the same G4. I've got
apache running on one IP, and QTSS on another. Using AAC, 32Kbits/sec,
44.1KHz, 16 bit mono. I've got an FM tuner's headphone output going to an
iMic and then to the G4's USB port. Not the best audio quality, but not bad,
and I wanted to keep the bit rate below 32 kilobits/sec. Would love to do
64kbps stereo, but have to check our outgoing bandwidth.

You can hear it at http://video.conncoll.edu/wcni/wcni1.html

Or, in QuickTime Player, type rtsp://136.244.12.63/wcni.sdp.

Here's where I've gotten so far in my experiments to play this using Real
Player. When you save the movie in the above URL as a self-contained .mov,
and open it using the free RealOne Player, the audio plays fine!
(However, RealPlayer will not open the sdp file)

Now I just have to comb the Real Site for the html to create a Real link to
the server.

I'd like a web page with links from all three main players (QT, RM, WM) to
the same streaming file, if possible.

Also, I need to look into the copyright issues. I read they just changed the
net radio station rules, and I think they have different ones for
non-profit, or college, "simulcasts". You cannot link to wcni yet.

Cheers,
