What gives? What "arrangement with Apple QuickTime" would force NPR to no

I love QuickTime and invested quite a bit of time and money developing my
site. However, I'm noticing QuickTime offerings appearing less and less on
major sites. I also noticed that all the major news organizations using
Real or Windows Media for their video offerings. This is another loss for
Apple.

(pure speculation) could it be that Apple is moving out of the fray and into some new direction with QT?
