Re: darwin streaming server cannot find .sdp files?

Delete the t=x line from your .sdp file on your server.

t=1558009794 0

Then re-save the .sdp file and it should work correctly.

There was a problem in the past with Sorenson Broadcaster .sdp's putting in t=x lines that caused the stream to get a 404 error when accessed via QTSS.

hi, all,

I am using DSS and put some .sdp files in the movies
directory. However, when I want to access this .sdp file
with rtsp://addr_of_DSS/xyz.sdp, the Quicktime player says
"404: file not found". Somebody told me that the following
line in the sdp file
c=IN IP4 xxx.yyy.zzz.www/15
should use the ip address of the DSS. I changed it and it
still doesn't work. Can anyone help me out? It really make
me panic.

Are you broadcasting via unicast or multicast from your broadcaster to DSS?

What version of DSS are you using? What broadcaster (generating the
.sdp files) are you using?

Is there a t=x.x line in your .sdp? If so, then try deleting that
line, and re-save the .sdp file in the Movies directory.

I have actually experienced the same problem today with a live broadcast via
unicast.

I'm running Sorenson Broadcaster 1.5 (updated with their most recent patch)
and DSS 4.1.3 on a Windows XP Pro box.

This is the SDP-file generated by the broadcaster (and that I have placed in
the movies directory, once with the t-line and once without it):

v=0
o=xxxxxx 1558009794 1558009794 IN IP4 157.193.83.186
s=Untitled Broadcast
c=IN IP4 157.193.83.186/15
t=1558009794 0
a=x-qt-text-aut:xxxxxx
a=x-qt-text-cmt:Sorenson Broadcaster for Windows 1.5.11.938
a=x-bufferdelay:8
m=video 28206 RTP/AVP 102
a=rtpmap:102 X-SorensonVideo
a=cliprect:0,0,144,176

This is what I get when trying to watch the live stream locally with the
QuickTime media player:

DESCRIBE rtsp://157.193.83.186/capture.sdp RTSP/1.0
CSeq: 1
Accept: application/sdp
Bandwidth: 2147483647

RTSP/1.0 500 Internal Server Error
Server: DSS/4.1.3 (Build/412.45; Platform/Win32)
Cseq: 1
Connection: Close

Can't bind reflector sockets

I have no problems with accessing local movies in the media folder of DSS.
Does someone know how to fix this problem?

Thx,
Smudge
