I am using Darwin Streaming Server to do live
(audio and video) streaming on
the Internet. The problem is that it is hard for me to find a
good encoding method with small bandwidth and good
performance. Currently I am using Sorenson Broadcaster to do
encoding. The acceptable performance is obtained with
Sorenson 3 encoding with a 800kbps bandwidht. This is too
high. What I want is no higher than 300~500kbps. Does
anybody have experience with this? any encoding software and
algorithm is ok. (However, the encoding software should work
with DSS. I tried MS Media Encoder, which provides
acceptable performance, but it use http to send out the
stream. I don't know how DSS can work with it. Can
Realnetworks Helix Producer Basic work?)
