Confusing Question

First post, so I hope I am not repeating too much. I admit I could not find
anything in the archives, so here goes....

I have streaming server set up on a separate machine from my Web Server. So
I have the streaming server set to use port 80. I can access the streaming
movies in .mp4 format from a number of locations. My Ti-Book accesses and
plays from inside the network as well as achieving external access through
Roadrunner. Windows machines with QT access from within the network just
fine, although I have not checked windows access from external locations. So
here's the problem.

On a 700 QuickSilver accessing Internet through Roadrunner, I get QT to open
and beginning of connection (message indicates "connecting" while blue
smudge crawls everywhere). The stream never begins. When I access using QT
open url command, I get a message that some software component is
unavailable to the program to play. The QuickSilver is running 10.2.4. QT is
6.1. I checked the set up preferences and connection speed is appropriate
for Roadrunner cable, the transport is "HTTP" and port is 80. This is the
same as the setups on the Ti-Book.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to what I am overlooking on the
QuickSilver's set up.

Thanks

David
