QTSS/DSS Users,
We've just set up Darwin Streaming Server 4.1.2 on a Windows 2000 Server and
are having trouble with live broadcasts. The server seems to be working fine
with on-demand QuickTime movies but fails when trying to distribute a live
broadcast.
I'm using QuickTime Broadcaster to send a unicast stream to DSS. Everything
seems to connect OK between QTB and DSS but when I try to access the live
stream via QuickTime player the QTB reports a "Broadcaster Error: Disconnected
(-3285)" error, the DSS reports a "Connect Failed: Unknown Error" error and
the QuickTime Player never connects. I have to stop DSS and start it again
before beginning another broadcast.
I have the "Allow unrestricted broadcasting" dialog checked on the server and
the qtaccess file in the Movies directory set for any user to broadcast. I
also have the "Streaming on Port 80" dialog checked. The DSS box is outside
of our firewall and our QTB machine is inside the firewall.
Any ideas on what's going wrong or things I can do to troubleshoot?
Thanks.
