DSS shutting down - might have identified problem

QTSS/DSS Users,

I've been having some very interesting problems using QuickTime Broadcaster on
OS X and Darwin Streaming Server on Windows 2000 to broadcast live events.
Everything seems to work properly until I try to connect to the live broadcast
with QuickTime Player-the server hangs and the broadcaster disconnects.

Several of you have forwarded me possible causes and troubleshooting ideas and
I thank you for your assistance. Unfortunately, nothing I've tried has helped
me isolate the problem-until now.

It seems that the Qualcomm PureVoice codec with its native Packetizer is
causing the trouble. Any other codec I use allows me to stream fine. The
Qualcomm codec with the QuickTime Packetizer streams fine. But the Qualcomm
codec with the Qualcomm Packetizer causes a hang.

Has anyone else seen this behavior? Any ideas on why this is happening? Are
there any problems with using the QuickTime Packetizer with the Qualcomm codec
besides a slightly less efficient packet distribution?

Thanks.
