Michael,
Not to say my development environment is unique, but I run QTSS on a TiBook (10.2.2) and typically play/test my work via a Windoze desktop (I'll soon be running DSS on RHL 8).
In my earlier reply I was looking at your stream from my Windoze 2000 Pro desktop running RealPlayer (v6.0.11.853). The QT6 test was from the same machine.
A couple of things to note however looking at your use of RTSP...
I believe, the sample, sample_100kbit.mp4, is intended to be linked to from a web page and *does not* represent a RTSP stream. If you were to provide an [embed] element you would likely find the QT6 will play it. RTSP is intended to stream a live broadcast, i.e. from QT Broadcaster, so this very well could be at the root of your problem. It could have been a fluke that RealPlayer worked.
See Apple's excellent treaty on this: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/authoring/embed.html
I hope that others more qualified will offer their insights to my earlier solicitation regarding the intended uses of QT6, iTunes, et al. It could be very enlightening for the list.
Tim
