RE: How to get Darwin started on Windows2000 server

OK, the IT guy was able to get the Admin program working with Mr. Brown's
help (thanks!). However, he is still unable to connect to the media. When
he connects to http://(IP ADDRESS)/sample.mov he gets the following error:

RTSP/1.0 400 Bad Request
Server: DSS/4.1.2 (Build/412.42; platform/Win32)
Cseq:
Connection: Close

He is able to play the movies on the machine locally, so he has the right
version of QT. But he cannot connect via the internet. Also, he says that
he looked through documentation and user lists, found people with this error
but was unable to find a solution.

He is using IE 6 browser and Windows2000 AS server.

Thanks

Kevin Crowley

The Perl streamingadminserver.pl program runs in the foreground at the
DOS Command terminal window. This is why when he types the
streamingadminserver.pl command the window just sits there. However,
the actual QTSS server (the actual server that handles all the rtsp
streaming) does run the QTSS streaming server binary on Win2k in the
"background" as a service by default. If you want to be able to login
to the Streaming Web Admin, then he'll need to keep the DOS Command
terminal window open and running streamingadminserver.pl.

Next, as for the 404 not found here when trying to connect to the
streaming web admin, make sure that he's using :1220 as the port when
attempting to login to the Perl Streaming Web Admin from a web browser:

    (in a web browser)
       http://qtss.ip.addr:1220/
