RE: Access Control question

I had a similar problem here, but it was settings on our firewall that
allowed me to stream externally through specified ports for audio and video.
There is a page on the apple support site somewhere that lists which ports
are used by QuickTime.
All you do then is add the html embed tags to your blackboard material
directed at your stream. If you want to be a little more secure, then make
a reference movie of your stream using QT pro, so that the blackboard link
is to that rather than someone being able to look at the html of the page
and finding your server address.
The reference movie can also be uploaded as a file too.
Hope this helps,
Paul

Subject: Access Control question

We currently are streaming internally on our LAN only. We are deploying
a Course Management System (Blackboard) and want to allow students off
campus to see streamed content within the password protected
environment of Blackboard. In other words, we want to allow streaming
to the outside world but only through links on our Blackboard server. I
have an IT guy very willing to make the settings needed to allow this,
but he is unfamiliar with QTSS and I am not IT. We have an XServ with 2
NICs. Where should we be looking to find out how to do this? Thanks.
