Newby comment: MP3 playlists

After several hours of frustration I thought I'd send an email to maybe
help out other potentially frustrated newbies.

I finally managed to get our Quicktime Streaming server to play mp3
playlists for the masses. A few types that the more knowledgable types
will already know this stuff but try prying it out of the mailing list
archive sometime:

1. MP3 files have to be configured in a similar manner (ie compression,
format, etc.)
2. MP3 playlists don't just "play" after you set them up in the Quicktime
Streaming admin.
3. Put a playlist with two files:

a. a text file with the extension ".mu3" containing only the URL of the
streaming server and the playlist/mountpoint name. Eg. This line is all
that's in my "sample.mu3" file:
"http://streaming.server.com/mp3playlistname";

b. a web page with a link to the "mu3" file. eg. Newbie Radio

4. Make sure your webserver has the appropriate mime setting for using
"m3u". The file when accessed via the link in your web page should begin
to be automatically downloaded to your computer. Once it is downloaded it
should engage your mp3 player and the tunes should begin to play.

Hopefully this will help some people.
