RE:Trouble using XP to access audio streams

Richard:

The links to these movies are HREF tags. They should really use the Object/Embed tags to link to QuickTime content. Otherwise, some other plug-in (like Windows Media Player) might be trying to play the media.

Documentation on the Object/Embed tag is available online at:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/authoring/embed.html

QuickTime for the web is an excellent book on integrating QuickTime content into web sites:

I've created a JavaScript page for building/testing Object/Embed tags on my homepage account at:

Subject: Trouble using XP to access audio streams
From: Richard Good <email@hidden>
To: email@hidden

Folks,
I've got a customer using a QT streaming server to serve some radio
shows at:
http://egoscue.com/htdocs/pfradio.asp
Streaming on port 80 is on. Everybody can access this except for
Windows XP users.
Any ideas?
I've suggested that they (XP users) try setting QT to use port 80 but
this doesn't seem to help. Multiple home users have reported this
problem that were known to be not behind firewalls.

This is just audio streams.

The videos referred to below are NOT streams, just normal downloads.

User message:
Hi guys,

I'm just trying to listen to the radio show archives and I get the
error message '10060 disconnecting' every time on each link. Now I"ve
got quicktime and I'm able to play the videos from the online training
without any problem, but the radio show links just aren't working. Any
clue what's up with this?

Thanks for any suggestions.
