I believe this error is coming from your QT Client, and is not a QTSS 4.x error. The "not available on the QuickTime server" message is not referring to your local QTSS 4.1.1 machine, but is instead probably in reference to Apple's QuickTime client software server. This can happen if for some reason you were trying to access an RTSP stream from your local QTSS server containing and a particular audio/video codec wasn't available (or installed) on your QT Client machine. Also, you might have been experiencing a minor loss in network connectivity between you and Apple's QuickTime download server at that particular time.

In my experience, there is nothing you need to do or fix on your local QTSS 4.1.1 server installation. Instead, I would suggest re-downloading and installing the latest QuickTime 6 software on your client machine, and trying it again.

I thought by installing QTSS, I would have installed all the components?

Any help would be appreciated.

We have the following installed:

QTSS 4.1.1
Blue and Ice G3 running 10.2.4
