Hi.
I claimed recently that my DSS had simply stopped streaming, and got some
responses asking me to check that my server's isp, or my client machines,
had not introduced a firewall.
Well I've been away before sorting it out, but back now, and it seems that
my client machine is indeed behind a firewall now. Thanks IT for telling
us!!
Anyhow, I have now been asked to let them know what I want opening up again,
they say for streaming quicktime, the server to client traffic, is udp, but
need to know the port range. We set it up on port 80 originally. That the
only one I need to tell them?
Secondly, the client to server traffic apparently is in http. Is this
correct? And what is the port range I need to tell them about on this one?
Finally, how widespread is this sort of problem going to be? If we cannot
see the streams as developers, what chance do our site's viewers have?
Any info, on any of this, appreciated as always.
