We're having problems when more than one user tries to stream video (even
though the computers are in the same building with pretty high bandwidth)
The effects in the quicktime player were strange. Sometimes it would block a
lot, sometimes we would see ghosts of the persons in the film, i.e. we would
have a still picture and then see the contour of the persons moving around !
Some users would have their quick time player stay in "connecting..." mode
forever.
I guess we must be doing something wrong ! Has anyone experienced the same
problems ? Here are some technical details of our system:
-Windows XP with 2GB memory
-100 Mbps network card
-Darwin Streaming Server with default settings, i.e. 100Mbps throughput and
1000 clients.
-Video stream generated with Sorenson video codec.
-Video stream bitrate 350 kbit/s
-Video stream file size ~1.5 GB (40 minutes worth of video)
-Video stream hinted.
-Video stream optimized for server.
-QuickTime player plugin using start and stop parameters to point inside the
stream.
