MP4, 3ivx, and QT 6.4

While working on a streaming project, I've come to find out the using QT 6.4 from a QTSS 4.1.3 server that anything in MP4 video hangs and lockups up the QT player in QT 6.4 on Panther & Jaguar. QT 6.3 is unaffected. When playing I manage to get info and found out that the format is reading the new 3ivx D4 format, yet in 6.3 it is MPEG-4. I know the clips were compressed in MPEG-4, I even checked an old clip I created four months ago and it does the same thing. I also tested and came up with the same results on another machine running QTSS. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to get around this one?
