A couple of options include:
The DFG/1394-1 <http://www.1394imaging.com/products/interfaces/dfg13941/
>. This isn't a DV source, so you can run it in tandem with a separate DV
camera.
At the opposite end of the spectrum you could go with the USB-based
InterView adapter <http://www.echofx.com/>. Since it is USB based, you
can use it along with a Firewire/DV source.
I'm not aware of a PCMCIA based capture card with Mac OS X drivers...
The video codecs don't do a great job with screen graphics. LiveChannel
has a feature called Live Presenter that allows you to push URLs. This is
a much better way to deliver hi-res screen graphics such as slides. You
can also use it to direct viewers to web sites or any other url-based content.
