Dear All,
I am hoping someone may be able to help me with these issues regarding
relaying live streams....
We currently are attempting to live stream between 2 institutions,
sending from one server to another located within the other institutions
firewall. I am reliably informed that all of the ports/ protocols we
requested are allowed through both firewalls. I can live stream from
each of the servers, though firewall to the outside world, but cannot
get the relaying of stream from one server to another going.
I have relays set up on both machines ( to test both ways), that should
send from one server to another using RTSP by requesting the incoming
stream from the appropriate IP. Does anyone have any experience of
streaming from from one institution to another using relays to send the
stream to the outside WWW?? If so any advice would be useful.
I assume that I should have a relay set on the destination server to
request incoming from the other servers IP using /live.sdp as the
mountpoint (where live.sdp is the outgoing stream from the first server)
Do I asl need to edit the default relay on the first server to send to
the destination (secong) server??
when requesting an incoming stream from the first server (on the second)
do I need to put the full rtsp://--myIP--/live.sdp in the path to mount
point???
Also is it possible that the destination server cannot locate the server
if the firewall on the send server end covers all IPs with a standard IP
address?? This has not been an issue when streaming from that IP to our
website in the past, the firewall does translation of the IP. I feel it
is possible if the second server is listerning for a specified IP and
it is being cloked????? it won't find that IP streaming??
If anyone knows of any hints/ problems we might have here please let me
know - - also any good online walk-through tutorials on using relays to
send on a live stream would also be useful
