It would be great if QuickTime supported LATM for the ability to check live 3GPP/3GPP2 streams on a computer, but the most important aspect is that the handsets play the streams, so in some regards, QuickTime Player LATM support is irrelevant.

It is the live_encoder/server/handset_player compatibility that matters most.

For the highest quality audio only streams, Orban Opticodec-PC PE supports RTSP/RTP/LATM AAC/aacPlus streams as per RFC-3016.
