Re: more HD space for streaming movies

I add new drives by doing the following -

Say you have a drive and it's name is 'NewDrive'

1. create a directory on the new drive ie. 'media2'
note: creating a directory allows you to store other things on the drive and not mix it up with your QTSS content.

2. Use the Terminal and cd into /Library/QuickTimeStreaming/Movies/

3. create a sim link from the QTSS Movies directory to the directory on the new drive using,

ln -s /Volumes/NewDrive/media2/ media2

This creates the following directory/simlink -

/Library/QuickTimeStreaming/Movies/media2/ ->  /Volumes/NewDrive/media2/

4. To access files in the new directory use this url -

rtsp://serverip/media2/filename.mov

Hope this helps.
