The mpeg-4 streams produced with tools like Backbone Radio or Wirecast
can provide track information inside of an embedded QuickTime movie or
QuickTime Player. A good example is http://www.avdeck.com/ produced
with Backbone Radio.

I've been running an internet radio station using various combos of

using a kludge of ITunes and applescript to put the now playing info
into an HTML window that periodically refreshes itself. I just
discovered that WinAmp on a windows machine can imbed this info
directly into the stream so that when the URL is opened in ITunes, the
now playing info appears in the ITunes status window. I find it hard
to believe that this is not possible on the Mac but so far I've been
unable to find a solution. I would appreciate ANY suggestions on how
to imbed this information in a live stream using QTSS (maybe with QTSS
Publisher?). The windows solution presents problems that I have
already solved using the Mac, and I would really prefer staying with
the Mac.
