Zhigao:
Exactly, the mismatch problem turns out to be due to the mp4 file I used. I
can successfully create a playlist using the sample movies (the movie only
shows a rolling QuickTime logo, right?) and get it playing. I can also do
multicast streaming with the relay running, though no connected relay is
shown in the web admin page (DSS bug?).
I downloaded the Towers.mp4 file from a movie website at
http://www.archive.org/movies/movies.php. I can stream this video using the
gmp4player of the MPEG4IP (I use this player because QuickTime 6 does not
have a Linux version), but it seems DSS is not happy with it. I guess the
video is lack of hint info required by DSS. If you happen to know how to add
the hint, please let me know.

The sdp file looks OK.
To eliminate the possibility that PlaylistBroadcaster isn't able to parse
the mpeg-4 file, could you try to create a playlist with one of the sample
movies installed with the server? If you don't have those, I can send a
small sample movie that I've tested. If that works, could you provide more
info on how you created your mpeg-4 file? Perhaps PlaylistBroadcaster is
generating incorrect sdp information.

Hi George,
Thank you very much for the reply. The SDP file generated after the web admin created the playlist is stored at /var/streaming/playlists/myplaylistname. Since the web admin complains the SDP mismatch, I wasn't able to use the generated broadcast description file to generate a SDP file.
Attached pls find the SDP file generated by the web admin. Look forward to your comments.
Best regards, Zhigao

I can successfully stream the mp4 file on demand in unicast.
That's a step in the right direction!
But I was not able to get through the playlist broadcast using SDP (there is actually only one video in my playlist). I've described how I created the playlist using the web admin in my previous email. The playlist, though seemingly simple, can not be started. It would be great if you can help me point out what's wrong.
I can't replicate this. Can you send me the sdp file that is being created by PlaylistBroadcaster? Normally the sdp file generated by the web gui will be placed in the movies directory, but it appears that it is being placed in the directory with the playlist config files (odd).
For 3, I can create and run a relay. However, it is not shown in the "Relay Status" page of the web admin. I guess it is because of the step 2 in which I haven't get the playlist broadcast up and running.
That's right. You've got to have the playlist running for the relay to be active.
