Streaming AAC instead of mp3 files - possible?

Sorry if the Question already was brought up before... 

Im having the DSS running on my server, with some playlists containing
mp3 files, but now i want to start importing i AAC (ITunes) and was
wondering if its possible to stream AAC files (.m4a) files in DSS, or
if it just accepts mp3 for streaming...?
