I've now got the recording from our live 3gpp stream (the stream was
aimed are GPRS and above) of our seminar at the GovNet conference,
that Sean O'Sullivan and I presented are case study on m-learning.
At the time I did not get the chance to e-mail you all on the list, for
you to have a go at viewing it on there phones, sorry about that. The
delegates at the seminar got the chance to see it though, as I passed
my k700i phone round the room, to see the live stream on wile Sean & I
where talking.
It was interesting to see the response from the delegates about the
stream as the subject mater on m-learning as well.
Well the day stated at about 9am for Sean he briefed his students &
Staff to come up with a movie as part of there curriculum studies on
foreign languages. They had to use a news paper as prop in the movie at
some point with in creating there movie. Then after his briefing, he
then popped on the train down to London.
While Sean was on the train coming down to London, I was busily setting
up camp in the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, right next to West
Minster Abby & the Houses of Parliament.
In my little kit bag, I had my 12" PowerBook (running Keynote), 12"
iBook (running iLife + QuickTime) and my number one choice of kit for
the day, was the Mac mini, with iSite and QuickTime Broadcaster.
At about 11am Sean turned up with the same copy of The Time news paper
that his school had bought only a few hours earlier, at this point I
had hocked up the two laptops & Mac mini to the + the projector to the
kvm box. We then got are internet connection sorted out about 10
minuets before we started are seminar on our Mac mini.
Sean and I got stuck into are 1st seminar (m-learning - case study on
Sean's school) and it went well. At the same time the live broadcaster
was running smoothly , I took the opportunity pass round the phone
round the room, so the delegates could see the live stream. Sean then
did the kill move with then saying, well are students have been working
on a little movie today as part of there school cores work, at the same
time he pulled out his news paper, and the delegates I fleet where
quite taken by that 1-2 hours work and it being streamed to cell phones
on top of that!! (FULL CREDIT TO THE AMAZING STUDENTS AND STAFF of
Frank Wise school) The 2nd seminar ran just as smoothly as the 1st one!
