With QuickTime 7.13, the default output settings for export for iPod
changed to 640x480 MP4/h.264 from 320x240 MP4/h.264, since all video
capable iPods can now use the larger format sizes. Unless you have
bandwidth limitations, there is no reason to use the older settings
anymore. Unfortunately, that preset doesn't allow for adjustment, so
you will basically need to generate a setting that recreates the
original output settings if those are your needs.
You will need to change 'as itunes' and 'using default settings' to a
call for appropriate settings in QuickTime. In ScriptEditor, open
the QuickTime player dictionary for specific option details. Most
likely you will want to do something like 'using settings preset' or
'using settings' with 'as MPEG4'. I'd suggest trying to create an
appropriate output from directly in QuickTime to the specs you
require & then note the settings used to replicate in AppleScript.
Good luck,
Niels

Hi Folks,
I've noticed that after recent updates, an applescript command that
used to convert video for podcasting at 320x250 is now rendering at
640x480
here is the simple applescript command used to convert movie files
into a suitable format:
export movie 1 to target as iTunes using default settings
I'd guess the 'default settings' is now set to 640x480 which is
great - but does anyone know a way to get the smaller version via
applescript?
I'd actually like to make two versions, one at 640 and another and
