Sorry that last email didn't hit everyone on the list.
There is no way to do it without re-exporting in someway, it at least
looks like you are not recompressing the file. If someone could
confirm
that it is actually not recompressing that would be great. In
QuickTime
Pro it gives you no compression settings when you are re-exporting
which
makes be believe that it is just recreating the hinted tracks.
You can also do this by making a little app in automator or
applescript
to do the same process.
This would be great as in 3ivx Crush, we do not currently have
hinting and it would make an awesome post processing script.
Currently, I've been using Crush, Final Cut Pro, QuickTime Player 6.5
and 7.0 as well as Compression Master in varying parts of our video
preparation. It'd be great to get this "good enough" hinting working
for an app that I have the source code for :]
FYI, I'm preparing a doc on what this 3ivx Crush thing is as we get
out demo ready and if anyone would like, I'll be glad to send it out
to the list.
