Re: Hinting previously compressed movies without recompressing.

I'm getting some success though with some material I created with Crush ... and some failures as well

On this front, there is an automator action called "Hint Movie" and I just tried it on a Dodge video I created. With success I think.

Now, the only tool I know of to analyze these movies to actually verify that they have actually been hinted is for OS 9 on Apple's Quicktime tools site.

Anyone know if there is an OS X tool for this?

Google is your friend.

1) Open the QT player. (Pro required)
2) Open your movie.
3) Choose Export and select "Movie to Hinted Movie"
4) Export away.

Now, I've got several failures of -5402 so it's not all rosy yet. Anyone know what this means?

"-5402 an unknown error has occurred"

I just got exactly the same error with a few mp4 files that were originally created with ffmpeg. Sigh....
