Hello,
I recently created several hinted movies with Quicktime Pro.
I published them at a web site here
http://www.shreemaa.org/drupal-4.7.3/node/656
the mystery is that I can play the movies, so far, only on my Macbook
which hinted the movies. Any other viewer who tries to play the movies
from their browser(Firefox or Safari)gets a Quicktime logo for about a
minute and then a white screen with a controller, but none of the
movies every play(the browser status bar says 'Done').
I don't have any clues why the movies won't play for others either
inside a browser or in Quicktime. if they do a download of any one of
the movies, it plays locally.
I've checked browser and Quicktime versions and they are the same as
what I have.
the movies were originally recorded in H.264
I exported them from Quicktime Pro and used these settings:
320x240
export: movie to hinted movie
uncheck: make movie self-contained. optimize hints for server
tracker hinter settings:
rtp payload encoding: quicktime
packet size limit: 512
mpeg-4 audio sound:
rtp payload encoding: mpeg-4 audio
packet size limit: 512
I was able to bring the original size of the H.264 recorded movies
from ~100-130M to within 15-29M.
does anyone know why others can't play the movies and get the white
screen only? or, would anyone on the list here see if they can play
any of the movies?
any help appreciated.
thanks.
Susan
