Re: File formats?

I heard the problems were with live streaming (though I don't know what the encoding software was), and that the buffering for on-demand QT streams was not as controllable or efficient as in QTSS/DSS.
But no other details, sorry.

Obviously, when someone is considering any technical solution, one does their homework and tests as much as possible.
If it works for you though, that's fine. That's all that really counts!

I am not trying to start any FUD here, but you better check how well
the Helix server can stream Quicktime files, if that's important.
I have heard it does not do a very good job.

Have you heard more specifically as to what the problems are? I've not
noticed any problems with streaming QuickTime files from Helix Universal
Server, but maybe I just haven't hit some limitation with an advanced
feature yet.
