Whoa, hold on a second...I didn't say /anything/ about ignoring Linux
users.
Do you not agree that Linux users, in general, will always prefer an open
standard with multiple open-source implementations (i.e. MPEG-4) over a
single-supplier, closed-standard (Flash Video)?

Multimedia clients, be it Flash, mp4 or whatever, could come from any
platform. VLC is one example of application that gives more general
support
and that is why it is being used.
