hey,
Are you're trying to access the UDP stream directly with QT, bypassing
the streaming server?
Are you sure QT even supports reading of raw UDP stream?

Subject: Trouble with RTP streaming
I am attempting to stream a .mov from a vlc server on Fedora Core 5
to a WinXP box running quicktime-player over a local network.
The vlc server (192.168.1.103) runs:
vlc -vvv video '#std{access=rtp,mux=ts,dst=192.168.1.101,port=6000}'
Then, on the quicktime client (192.168.1.101), I go to 'open url'
and enter:
rtp://192.168.1.103:6000
which results in the error:
Error -2000: a necessary data reference could not be resolved.
The movie (.mov) being streamed was hinted by quicktime and does work
when played normally. The same error also occurs when I attempt to
stream it to a multicast address.
Does anyone know what might be the cause of this?
Thanks.
