Thats the "normal" behaviour. read the Administration Guide, the readmes or other documentation, there're lists of the restrictions of playlist streaming.
If you add a 25fps and a 29.97fps video to your locel players playlist, the player knows that there are two different files.
if you stream a playlist, the server creates "one movie" and cause this all your movies needs the same fps (and other stuff).

Yep, and even the slightest deviation on either audio or video encoding will cause problems.

I've had the same issue here when we were using QT Pro to encode video. For some reason, one of the parameters would spontaneously change (framerate, audio bitrate, etc) without someone noticing and we'd wind up with a raft of "incompatible" video. :( That's why I'm feverishly trying to find an automated way to script this encoding step so that I can be sure that the files that get spit out are all encoded exactly the same way. FFmpeg was working fine for a while, but was choking other tools on the hinting steps (seems like some B-frame oddness). Recent beta builds of ffmpeg work fine, but seem to have broken/choppy aac audio issues. :(

Any suggestions there are very much welcome.
