QT Pro is one of the worstest ways to get a mpeg4/h264 movie! Also, the
Player isn't very "stable" or rich of mpeg4/h264 features.
Im running WindowsXP and Linux here and i was new to the mpeg4 stuff.
First i tried some CLI apps from MPEG4IP but they doesnt work, too old.
After that i searched for CLI tools and found a solution, a useless solution
:( audio channels were switched, video quality was annoying and many more.
Now i use "meGUI" and it works perfectly. It supports queued encoding, just
create one profile for audio and video, add all the files you want to
encode, just select the onlyone profile and add it to the queue. After
adding leave the computer alone, some days, weeks, dunno :) It reads avs
(AviSynth Scripts), m2v, d2v, vob and many more.
To get the encrypt the dvd files to hdd, i use a very smart ripper - but
sorry, i can't tell you the name ...
Then i use DGIndex to demux audio- and video-stream out of the vob-files.
With DGIndex you can cutoff the beginning and end of input. If you cut, all
files get also cut, ac3, m2v, d2v, etc.
After that, i use meGUI.
I'll create two shortcuts to test it on my dss, cause of 2pass there's VBR
instead of CBR, perhaps dss needs CBR? Well, i'll try :)
