Hey Art,

I'm also a student at UD.  Currently I use a iBook
with 10.1.5 (alas jaguar hasn't arrived yet...*sigh*
;) )..anyways it works perfect on UD's network using
roaming IP..After you plug in to a drop you go to
udel.edu/network/ ..login..register your
computer..this uses your computer's MAC adddress.  I
assume your friend has already done that.  Next step
is to go to System Prefs>network and select dhcp under
"built-in ethernet".  I also have udel.edu in my
search domain although I'm not sure if that's really
important.  Then hit "Apply now" and it should take
about 2-3 seconds for it to obtain an IP
Address...then browsing/ssh etc should work perfectly.
 This is 10.1.5 remember, and as soon as I get 10.2
(I'm hoping tomorrow), I'll test it out on the network
right away.
